ARKeX helps de-risk Uganda Exploration for Tower Resources plc

ARKeX, the provider of geophysical imaging services, is currently performing an airborne BlueQube gravity gradiometry survey for Tower Resources plc over Block EA5, onshore Uganda, which is operated by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Neptune Petroleum (Uganda) Limited.

Block EA5 "The Rhino Camp Basin" is a 2,941 sq km License area situated at the northern end of the Albertine Graben in north-west Uganda. The Basin is relatively unexplored but has good hydrocarbon potential with various analogies to the other producing basins within the Albertine Graben.

The airborne BlueQube survey will be used to map structures in the deeper part of the basin to improve structural definition and assist in identifying a better-developed reservoir section. The survey will also be used to better locate future seismic surveys.

"Airborne gravity gradiometry is an important tool for us in this area", said Peter Kingston, Tower Resources' Chairman. "We want the best available picture of our acreage before we start any further seismic or drilling programs. Gravity gradiometry will help us achieve this".

Paul Versnel, ARKeX VP Eastern Hemisphere, added, "We have made a great start to the survey in an area that incorporates the River Nile and swamps. Covering the whole area in seismic would be very difficult in these conditions; so the airborne nature of BlueQube, combined with the high resolution measurements, means that future seismic work can be located with greater confidence".
