Energy Ventures 3rd Annual Cocktail Reception, Houston
Energy Ventures held their 3rd Annual Cocktail Reception in Houston on the 21st of October at La Colombe d'Or Mansion. Portfolio companies represented at the event were: ARKeX, Cubility, Deepflex, Direct Drive Systems (exited in September 2009), Energreen, Fotech, Futuretec, Ingrain, Norse Cutting & Abandonment, NovaDrill, Omniware, Oxane, Reality Mobile (newest investment in October 2009), Sigma, Stingray and Ziebel.
The speaker for the evening was Dan Pickering, Co-President of Tudor Pickering Holt & Co., an energy investment and merchant banking firm. Mr. Pickering gave a very interesting keynote entitled “Energy Outlook - To Infinity and Beyond."
Ole Melberg, Energy Ventures’ Managing Partner, gave a brief presentation on their investment strategy, which was highlighted by a testimonial from Vatche Artinian, Chairman and Founder of Direct Drive Systems (DDS). DDS was bought by FMC Technologies in September this year.
