Energy Ventures opens offices in Aberdeen and Houston

Energy Ventures, the international independent venture capital company, which manages funds totalling NOK 900 million ($154 million) and specialises in providing funding to high growth upstream oil and gas technology companies, has continued its expansion with new offices in Aberdeen and Houston.

Greg Herrera, Partner and Investment Manager with Energy Ventures since early 2006, has re-located from the company’s head office in Stavanger to continue the great success Energy Ventures has enjoyed in the UK market.

Greg, who previously worked with energy industry investment bankers, Simmons and Company International, for seven years, is actively focusing on developing Energy Ventures’ UK portfolio of investment. Energy Ventures provides early stage and growth funding to companies with unique technologies and solutions to the oil and gas industry and creates increased value to shareholders.

Helge Tveit, a founding Partner and Investment Manager with Energy Ventures, has recently established the Houston office to develop the business in North America. Helge previously worked for BP and Amoco in various functions.

Ole Melberg, Managing Partner of Energy Ventures, said:”I am delighted that the growing success of Energy Ventures’ international portfolio has created the opportunity to establish a presence in Aberdeen and Houston. This enables our teams to build stronger association with the companies which we fund.”
