Red Spider Appoints Chief Financial Officer

Red Spider Technology, the remote open close technology specialists serving the international oil & gas industry, has appointed Gary Connel as Chief Financial Officer as part of an ongoing major growth strategy.

Mr Connel joins the company with 17 years experience in the global oil & gas industry, including senior roles at Technip and iicorr, where he helped the group achieve 20% year-on-year growth.

The Aberdeen University graduate, who is a Chartered Accountant, comes originally from Edinburgh and is married with two children.

He will be based at Red Spider's custom-built HQ in Westhill and said: “Red Spider has an excellent reputation in the industry for clever technology and I am joining at an exciting time for the company with a strong focus on international growth. We have a skilled team with a real spirit of everyone working together to be part of an organisation that achieves its targets.''

Steve Nicol, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We recently received venture funding to enable us to realise the potential of our existing technologies and bring our new products to market. Gary's experience and enthusiasm will make a significant impact on delivering profitable growth through internationalisation and the commercialisation of our remote open close products.''
