About ZipLog

ZipLog™-systemet is based on a semistiff spoolable carbon "Z-rod” that is pushed into live wells for logging applications, where distributed temperature (DTS) and distributed acoustics (DAS) is measured in real time along the entire "Z-rod". Also, the ZipLog™ system comprises an in-house developed high accuracy fiber optic point pressure and temperature sensor as well as an integrated sensor verifying movement of lower end of the "Z-rod" while deploying into the wellbore.

Following a two years development and qualification program performed by a ZipLog team established and based in Norway, where also a 3400 foot horizontal mock-up test "well" was built, the system has been operational for 18 months conducting operations in Oman and in USA. A third system is currently being built and will be deployed in the Ekofisk field offshore Norway in third quarter of 2010. This project is in partnership with DeepWell and Innovasjon Norge.

The CEO and co-founder of Ziebel David S. Ottesen says: "We are very pleased to receive such a prestigious award and see it as a clear recognition of the ZipLog™ system as a game-changing state-of-the-art wellbore intervention method that will be further developed to perform a wide variety of wellbore data acquisitions and operations.

So far we have conducted 18 successful deployments without well incidents and have demonstrated a new and more effective method to understand the dynamics of production and injection wells.“
