Thin Beds: Seismic Analysis Workflows to Extract Hidden Events

Foster Findlay Associates (ffA), an Energy Ventures portfolio company, published a technical paper on thin beds at the 2011 SEG Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. In the paper, the authors Gaynor Paton, Jesus Nunez and Katy Sutton illustrate several techniques that help identify thin beds and aid in the interpretation of their extents in poorly resolved data.

Adaptive Geobodies: Data Driven, Interpreter Controlled Geobody Delineation of Channel and Carbonate Features

Foster Findlay and Associates (ffA) presented a paper on adaptive geobodies during the 12th International Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Aug.15-18, 2011. The authors of the paper, Jesus Nunez, Nicholas McArdle, James Lowell, Dale Norton and Gaynor Payton, discussed an innovative technique that has enabled accurate extraction of geobodies in areas where all other commercially available techniques have failed.

Processing Gravity Gradient Data

As the demand for high-resolution gravity gradient data increases and surveys are undertaken over larger areas, new challenges for data processing have emerged. ARKeX investigated two methods used in commercial practice to process airborne full-tensor gravity gradient data; the methods result in enhanced, noise-reduced estimates of the tensor.

The Addition of Gravity Gradiometry to A Multidisciplinary, Integrated Interpretation Program Targeting Uranium In the Thelon and Athabasca Basins

AREVA Resources Canada , in association with ARKeX , has been able to de-risk known mineralised trends, as well as identify potential new trends and exploration targets in both the Athabasca and Thelon Basins in the continued search for economic uranium mineralisation.

Interpretation of Gravity and Magnetic Data at the Krishna-Godavari Basin, East Coast India

The eastern continental margin of India has a long exploration history because of its high hydrocarbon production potential. ARKeX contributed technical and interpretation support for the study to explain the origin of the two basement highs at the southern portion of the survey area, and the source of the series of strong gravity anomalies at the northern perimeter of the survey area.
